Children's Church

Small Children often have a difficult time sitting through the sermon, making it likewise difficult for their parents to listen to the sermon. Children's Church offers a time of relevant Bible study and worship for children ages 4 years to 3rd grade for the 8:30 am Sunday Service (no longer offered for 11am service). Children are dismissed after singing and before the sermon. During Children's Church the leaders tell Bible stories and do an activity to illustrate the story and/or act out the story. For both services, there's a handout at the East Door information station to help older children listen to the service. If you have questions or would like to participate as a Children's Church teacher, please contact the church office at (575) 835-0041.

AWANA Program

AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (refer to 2 Timothy 2:15). The AWANA Program is for children from all backgrounds - from unchurched children in our neighborhoods to our own church family children.

AWANA is fun with a purpose - to reach and train children, age 3 years old to the 8th grade, for Jesus Christ. What to Expect: Basic Bible doctrine is communicated along with an increased focus on scripture memorization.  Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform these children in a weekly experience, where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Each Wednesday, we will meet from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Contact the church office for more information (575) 835-0041 or Amanda Gilbreath, AWANA Commander.  For information on the national AWANA Program, visit www.AWANA.org.

Vacation Bible School 2012

Vacation Bible School for 2012 is still in the planning stages. More information to follow...... For 2010, the theme was Egypt: Joseph's Journey from Prison to Palace. It was quite unique! 27 North Carolinians from West Cabarrus Church of Concord, NC partnered with our church for Vacation Bible School. In the afternoons, VBS was held in the parks. In the evening, VBS was held at our church in addition to a parenting class. If you need more infomation or want to volunteer to help, contact the coordinator, Youth Minister James Trevillian at the church office, (575) 835-0041.
