The C.A.R.E (Christians Actively Reaching Everyone) Ministry meet each Monday. Each Monday evening at 6:30pm, a group of people will meet to choose a ministry task to complete as a family, in pairs or individually, such as visit the sick, write a letter to a missionary, pray for the efficacy of this ministry, distribute information to Socorro residents about our church's ministries, or surveying Socorro residents for their spiritual interest. Come out and use your unique spiritual gifts and skills to fulfill the Great Commission - to make disciples, to obey the Great Commandment - to love God and our neighbors and to fulfill our church's mission - to be a caring community of Christians. Disaster Relief Training will be held on August 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Training will be on "Yellow Hat" Basic Training needed to be involved in disaster relief efforts.   Also, there will be training in the operation of the water purification unit and training on the New Mexico D.R. Child Care unit. Lunch will be provided, so please contact the church office at 835-0041 to sign up.  

The Dave Ramsey financial Peace University class will be held each Sunday at 5pm. Child care will be provided. Contact the church office at (575) 835-0041 for class materials.

Ladies! Dinner and a Movie will be held at Kara Hughes' home. Please RSVP at (575) 835-2820.

As part of our church's 75th anniversary celebration in November, we would like to create a slideshow with pictures, documents and other items from our church's history. If you have any pictures or other things we can scan in and use, please let James know by calling the church office or emailing youth@fbsocorro.org. We will return any items we scan.

The 5th Sunday Sing on Sunday, August 29th at 3 pm in Reserve has been cancelled.  There will be a potluck and an Executive Board Meeting here at the church.  Please plan to attend.

Lives Ablaze Student Conference will be held September 5-6, 2010 at the Glorieta Conference Center.  Please notify James if you plan to go!

Parents, it's time for AWANA to start for the 2010 -2011 school year! Awana starts on September 8, 2010. This year the AWANA progam will meet on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the church office at (575) 835-0041 or contact the AWANA Commander Amanda Gilbreath. We are looking forward to another great year!

The Women's Bible study will start Thursday, September 9th. The study is called, "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World". You can attend either the session at 2:30pm or at 6:30pm. Call the church office at (575) 835-0041 to obtain a book. Please join us for a great study and be blessed.

As part of our 30 days of Prayer for the Bishnoi, all are invited to dinner & a movie on Friday, September 10th at 6pm. We will watch a brand new 30 minute video of the Bishnoi (filmed May 2010), spend time in prayer and eat an Indian dinner. We will accept donations to help cover the cost of the meal and toward the 2011 India Mission trip. RSVP to Emily at the church office (575) 835-0041.

Youth Group meets every Thursday at 6pm at Youth Minister James' home. If you need more information, contact Youth Minister James at the church office, 835-0041.

We are collecting items for the 2010 Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes.  For the months of August and September, we are collecting school supplies. We are halfway through this year's collecting. Please keep our efforts in your prayers as we work towards our goal of 100 boxes for this year!

Do you want to learn how to incorporate mission work into your every day life? Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday, the Women's Missionary Union meet at 9:30am for mission focus, bible study and prayer for missionaries all over the world. Starting September 2nd, the Moms In Touch will meet in the fall on 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 10am.

Starting September 9th, the Witt's End Mom's group will meet in the fall on 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 10am.

The church office has the movie Fireproof. If anyone would like to see it, come by the church office.

Office hours are Mon - Thur 9am to 3pm. The office is closed for lunch and on Fridays. Please leave a message if noone is in and we will contact you as soon as possible. Thank you.
